France to Host Crypto Security Summit Amid Rising Kidnapping Threats

French authorities are escalating efforts to protect cryptocurrency entrepreneurs following a surge in targeted kidnappings. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau will convene industry leaders on May 16 at the Interior Ministry to address security vulnerabilities.

The closed-door session aims to develop countermeasures and enhance risk awareness among digital asset firms. "We must jointly take measures to protect them," Retailleau told Le Monde, emphasizing the need for public-private collaboration against this emerging threat vector.
